Alpha-Fetoprotein Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a fetal tumor-associated polypeptide of the albuminoid gene family that binds and transports molecules in addition to many other proposed functions.1 This secretory protein is synthesized primarily in the fetal liver whereas expression is repressed in adult liver.2 Anti-AFP has been immunohistochemically demonstrated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and shows no immunoreactivity in normal liver.3
