Temperature Mapping FAQs

What is temperature mapping?

It is the process of proving the stability and environmental uniformity of a chamber. It involves measuring and recording temperature distribution within a defined space over a period to identify temperature variations and ensure consistent environmental conditions.

What types of enclosures do we map?

We map fridges, freezers, incubators, chambers, Water baths and heating blocks.

What standards do we follow?

MSC only uses instruments calibrated by labs accredited to ISO 17025. We also follow NML and CT009 standards.

How do we report temperature mapping results?

At MSC we have the capability to measure temperatures from 1-minute to 10-minute intervals over a time range of up to 14 days. All measurements are taken into consideration when issuing a Pass or Fail for the unit under test. A Temperature Mapping report is then provided for each unit. This highlights the set point, acceptance tolerance, the load, the measuring interval and the mapping interval. It includes a graph and table with the min – max average for the unit under test.

What makes MSC’s temperature mapping service different?

MSC has two dedicated technicians for temperature mapping, serving the Irish Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, and Diagnostics sectors, offering best-in-class service. Our excellent service guarantees you fast turnaround, clear reporting and handling of marginal results.
