Our Double Skin Breathable Film is a gas permeable plate seal which reduces evaporation during incubation. It is suitable for sealing assay plates, microplates, and storage plates.
The seal consists of a thin membrane with an adhesive layer for effective sealing. The membrane is gas permeable whilst proving an effective barrier to moisture and contamination. This gas exchange enables cells to breathe, whilst evaporation is prevented. This seal is recommended for bacterial culture, particularly for long term incubations, where prevention of evaporation is essential. Its use can improve cell growth significantly compared to other seals and lids.
For all adhesive seals, the best sealing results are achieved using the hand held Adhesive Seal Roller (4ti-0502).
