The highly anticipated Laboratory Cup 2024 is just around the corner! This thrilling 5-A-Side Football event brings together laboratories from across Ireland, spanning the clinical, research, and pharma fields, to compete in an exhilarating day of sport and camaraderie.
A Tradition of Competition and Charity
The Laboratory Cup has become a beloved tradition, uniting the scientific community in a friendly yet fiercely competitive environment. Each year, we extend an invitation to laboratories nationwide to form teams and showcase their football prowess. But it’s not just about the glory on the pitch—it’s about giving back to the community. The money raised from this event is generously matched by MSC, and the total proceeds go to the charity chosen by the winning team.
Supporting Worthy Causes
Over the years, the Laboratory Cup has supported a variety of deserving charities, making a significant impact on those in need. Past beneficiaries include:
- LauraLynn: Ireland’s only children’s hospice, providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
- Peter McVerry Trust: A charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage.
- The Irish Cancer Society: Leading the fight against cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support.
- Bobby’s Wish To Walk: Helping a young boy with cerebral palsy achieve his dream of walking through specialized surgery and therapy.
- Endometriosis Association of Ireland: Offering support and information to women suffering from endometriosis and promoting awareness and research into this chronic condition.
Laboratory Cup 2024 Details
- Date: Friday, 6th September
- Where: National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown
- Time: 3:30 pm
- Refreshments & Prize Giving: Clonsilla Inn
- Registration Fee: €50 per team or €5 per individual
Note: If you can’t form a complete team, that’s no problem. You can register as an individual player. MSC will place you on a team. Simply select the option to enter as an individual, and MSC will take care of the rest.
