Microgen® Path-Chek® Hygiene Tests

These Hygiene Tests are Rapid tests used for the detection of a range of bacteria (Salmonella, Listeria and Coliforms) on work surfaces and in the processing environment.

Features of Microgen® Path-Chek® Hygiene Tests

  1. High levels of sensitivity and specificity (<1cfu per cm2)
  2. Compliant with the requirements of ISO 18593:2004 (E)
  3. Pre-moistened swabs increase recovery from wet and dry surfaces. These also neutralise residual detergents and sanitising agents, preserving target microorganisms

Coliforms Test Kits

Microgen® Path-Chek® Coliforms (media only) for the rapid detection of Coliforms from work surfaces and the processing environment.

Details

  • Bacteria are recovered from the surface of food manufacturing or processing equipment using a pre-moistened swab, which is capable of neutralising commonly employed detergents and sanitisers.
  • The sample swab is then transferred into an organism-specific media (swabs have a conveniently located break point so that they can easily be broken off into the growth media).
  • Path-Chek® Coliforms are incubated at 35-37°C for 18-24 hours If the specific target bacteria are present on the sample swabs, bacterial growth will cause the colour of the media to change.

Listeria Test Kits

Microgen® Path-Chek® Listeria (media only) for the rapid detection of Listeria from work surfaces and the processing environment.

Details

  • Bacteria are recovered from the surface of food manufacturing or processing equipment using a pre-moistened swab, which is capable of neutralising commonly employed detergents and sanitisers.
  • The sample swab is then transferred into an organism-specific media (swabs have a conveniently located breakpoint so that they can easily be broken off into the growth media).
  • Path-Chek® Listeria are incubated at 25°C for 24-48 hours.
  • If the specific target bacteria are present on the sample swabs, bacterial growth will cause the colour of the media to change.

Salmonella Test Kits

Microgen® Path-Chek® Salmonella (media only) for the rapid detection of Salmonella from work surfaces and the processing environment.

Details

  • Bacteria are recovered from the surface of food manufacturing or processing equipment using a pre-moistened swab, which is capable of neutralising commonly employed detergents and sanitisers.
  • The sample swab is then transferred into an organism-specific media (swabs have a conveniently located breakpoint so that they can easily be broken off into the growth media).
  • Path-Chek® Salmonella are incubated at 35–37 °C for 18–24 hours.
  • If the specific target bacteria are present on the sample swabs, bacterial growth will cause the colour of the media to change.

Hygiene Protein Swabs

Path-Chek Hygiene Protein Swabs is a simple, rapid and economical chemical-based test for the detection of food residues on food manufacturing surfaces after the performance of routine cleaning and sanitising procedures have been performed.

Details

  • A rapid chemical-based test for the detection of invisible food residues on food manufacturing surfaces after routine cleaning and sanitising procedures have been performed. The test provides an instant result without the need for laboratory facilities or incubation.
  • Does not detect bacteria, so tests for specific food-borne pathogens are recommended as complementary environmental tests.
  • Economical to use as one swab has two swab heads and therefore two tests per swab (opened swabs can be stored in a zip-lock bag for up to 7 days at 2-8°C).

Microgen® Path-Chek® Swabs

Microgen® Path-Chek® Swabs are pre-moistened swabs for use in combination of the Path-Check® identification media tests.

Features Include:

  • A simple, rapid and economical chemical-based test for the detection of food residues on food manufacturing surfaces after the performance of routine cleaning and sanitising procedures have been performed.
  • With its pre-moistured cotton swab, it ensures preserving the integrity of the sample, as well as the correct recovery on both dry and wet surfaces after its cleaning with detergents.
