Why consider an Anaerobic Workstation?

Traditionally, anaerobic bacteria have been cultured using anaerobic jars – a low-cost solution which can be re-used for years. While this system can appear to be a cost-effective solution, the ongoing consumable costs, the risk of false negatives and inaccurate counts due to sealing issues can have a negative impact over time. Anaerobic jars also require a large volume of incubator space which can become an issue, particularly in laboratories with a high anaerobic workload.

Maworde’s anaerobic workstations allow optimised testing of anaerobic strains by ensuring a stable atmosphere for the entire testing process, from plating through to incubation and reading. Your laboratories incubator capacity requirements can be reduced and plates can be inspected at any time without disturbing the internal conditions. The interlock system allows simple and fast transfer of 90mm plates into the anaerobic chamber.

Features & Benefits of Anaerobic Workstations

  • Plates kept in optimal growth conditions during inspection.
  • Temperature & humidity settings can be easily adjusted
  • Can be configured for microaerophilic bacteria
  • No risk of jar seal integrity issues or unsuccessful oxygen removal
  • Single Plate Entry System (SPES™) without exposing other plates to O2
  • Save incubator space for other testing

When selecting an anaerobic workstation, it’s important for laboratories to consider their specific goals, budget, and available space. Different models offer varying features and capabilities, so it’s important to choose one that aligns with the laboratory’s unique needs. You can get in touch with a product specialist below to determine which workstation best suits your laboratories specific requirements.
